ABHISHEK VARMAN

Born and raised in Mumbai, Abhishek Varman is a filmmaker driven by emotion, character, and narrative instinct. Trained as an architect, his background brings structure and clarity to the way he approaches visual storytelling.

He began his career as an Assistant Director on large-scale Hindi films, gaining hands-on experience in shaping stories that balance intimacy with scale. These formative years helped define his approach to character and performance.

Abhishek made his directorial debut with 2 States, a major commercial and critical success that earned him the Filmfare Award for Best Debut Director in 2014. He followed this with Kalank, an ambitious period drama. Both films received multiple awards and recognition across platforms.

Alongside feature films, Abhishek has built a strong body of advertising work focused on beauty, performance, and humour-driven narratives. His ad films bring together tone, timing, and emotion—finding warmth and charm in everyday moments through carefully observed performances.
